This problem still exists in 0.3.1 on FreeBSD and Fedora.

To reproduce:

mail -s '' user@domain <<EOF
XJS*C4JDBQADN1.NSBN3*2IDNEN*GTUBE-STANDARD-ANTI-UBE-TEST-EMAIL*C.34X
EOF

I applied the patch given by Marco Supino (comment #7) and verified that it worked correctly in all three of these cases:

1) No Subject: header

2) Empty Subject: header (nothing after the : )
   (this is the case that resulted in duplicate Subject: headers)

3) Subject: header with content after the :

Please can we have this (or a functionally equivalent) patch applied to the distributed code, so this long-standing problem can be resolved.

Same problem with spamass-milter-0.2.0 RPM.

We tried it with version 0.1.3a and with the actual version
this afternoon (the cvs-version).
We do not mention the bug with the "Fixed header doubling
problem".
It only occurs when a message is sent with an empty subject
line. Then the milter adds a second line with th spam
information. But for example Outlook is only capable to
show one subject line. But this line is the empty line.
And we think that this behaviour should not be! Any idea?

Hi guys,

we found probably another bug in Spamassassin Milter:
If someone send spammails without anything in the
subject line the Milter does not change the subject
line itself, it adds a second subject line (as you can
see a few lines below). But as you might know, there
should be only one subject line.
Are there any patches that can fix this problem?
